Solgar Standardised Full Potency (SFP) Herbs (standardised herb extract + whole raw herb)
Combines ideologies of traditional herbalism that a herbal compound
should contain all components of herb, plus standardisation of known
active herb compounds. Standardised compounds are thus blended with
whole raw herb powder to produce a standardised herbal extract with
all the synergistic qualities of the herb found in nature.
Bilberry Berries - Vaccimium myrtillus
Bilberry Berries have long been utilised as a tonic for the protection
of the eyes.
The berries contain powerful antioxidants called anthocyanoside (anthocyanadin)
flavonoids. Bilberry Berries have been shown to improve circulation to
the eye and improve oxygen levels in the eye tissue. Additionally, the
antioxidant properties of the anthocyanosides help protect the collagen
structure of the eye tissue from damaging free radicals - the major
destructive element in eye degeneration.
Besides improving circulation to the eye, Bilberry Berries have been
shown to improve circulation in the rest of the body and is utilised as a general circulatory tonic.
All standardised full potency herbs are combined with a mix of compounds with antioxidant
properties to help maintain the herb's freshness, stability and integrity. These include:
